Indonesia recorded 57,426 new Covid-19 cases today, bringing the total since the start of the pandemic to 5.41 million as of Thursday, February 24, 2022. The five provinces with the highest number of new cases today are West Java, DKI Jakarta, East Java, Central Java, and Banten.

1. West Java recorded 12,937 new cases

West Java ranks first. The increase in cases here is recorded at 12,937, a 1.35 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 959,780. With this addition, the total number of cases in West Java is now 972,720.

2. DKI Jakarta recorded 6,855 new cases

DKI Jakarta ranks second. The increase in Covid-19 cases here is 6,855. The seven-day positive rate in this region is recorded at 15.8 percent. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested for Covid-19 in this province is recorded at 304.61 per week.

3. East Java recorded 6,643 new cases

Next is East Java. The increase in cases here is recorded at 6,643, a 1.3 percent increase compared to the previous day's cumulative total of 509,530. With this addition, the total number of cases in this province is now 516,180.
