The top five, starting from the highest, are Sukabumi City, Jombang, Pasuruan, Bojonegoro, and Gianyar, with 988, 986, 980, 975, and 956 tests per week respectively.
Sukabumi City ranks first. With a population of 331,750, the number of people tested in the last week was 988 per week. The latest positive rate is 1.21 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Jombang. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the number of people tested in the last week was 986 per week. The positive rate in this region is 1.12 percent, which has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Furthermore, Pasuruan recorded 980 tests per week, Bojonegoro 975 tests per week, and Gianyar 956 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on the national Covid-19 data recapitulation, 146 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests in the last week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 230 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests in the last week compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest number of tests in the last week include Gianyar, Banjarmasin City, and Padang City, with 956, 943, and 938 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
