The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 78 regencies/cities with weekly tracing rates above the national average, currently recorded at 1.76 percent as of Thursday, December 29, 2022.
The top five regencies/cities with rates exceeding 21.6 percent are Surabaya City, Semarang City, Metro City, Tasikmalaya, and West Lombok, with values of 26.5 percent, 25 percent, 24.67 percent, 23 percent, and 21.6 percent respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid data from the Ministry of Health shows that tracing in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. Daily tracing figures higher than before were recorded in 10 regencies/cities, while 10 other regencies/cities recorded lower tracing rates.
Areas outside Java with the highest tracing rates include Metro City, West Lombok, and Bima, with tracing rates of 24.67 percent, 21.6 percent, and 20.5 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
