This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Badung, Mimika, Balikpapan City, Surabaya City, and Tarakan City, with ratios of 889.97 percent, 794.64 percent, 771.27 percent, 620.92 percent, and 620.3 percent respectively.
Badung is ranked first. With a population of 727,950, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 889.97 percent. The latest positive rate is 5.17 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Mimika. The population in this region is recorded at 221,810. In an effort to prevent the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 794.64 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 1.74 percent, or higher than the previous week's percentage.
Then, Balikpapan City recorded 771.27 percent testing, Surabaya City 620.92 percent, and Tarakan City, with a population of 267,270, recorded a weekly testing percentage of 620.3 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 336 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 54 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Badung, Mimika, and Balikpapan City, with weekly testing percentages of 889.97 percent, 794.64 percent, and 771.27 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
