To curb the spread of COVID-19 in regions, 146 districts/cities are aggressively conducting COVID-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data from the week of October 30, 2022, shows a national average of 131.28 tests per week.
The top five, in descending order, are Deli Serdang, Samarinda City, Gresik, Malang, and Sukabumi, with 992, 878, 875, 844, and 829 tests per week, respectively.
Deli Serdang ranks first, with 992 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 4.54%, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Samarinda City, with a population of 866,880. In an effort to combat the COVID-19 pandemic, 878 tests were conducted per week. The positive rate is 15.38%, also higher than the previous week.
Following this, Gresik conducted 875 tests per week, Malang 844, and Sukabumi 829.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact across various regions, based on national COVID-19 data, 25 districts/cities actively reported a higher number of tests per week compared to the previous week. Conversely, 16 districts/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some of the regions with the highest number of tests per week include Deli Serdang, Samarinda City, and Pekanbaru City, with 992, 878, and 828 tests per week, respectively.
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
