The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 122 districts/cities with a weekly confirmed positive Covid-19 case count above the national average, currently recorded at 0.22 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Wednesday, March 8, 2023).
The top five districts/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 4.25 per 100,000 population/week are Central Jakarta, South Jakarta, West Jakarta, North Jakarta, and East Jakarta, with values of 7.11, 6.67, 4.69, 4.35, and 4.25 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most districts/cities outside Java. Twelve districts/cities recorded higher daily positive confirmations than before, while 11 districts/cities recorded lower positive confirmations.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Mahakam Ulu, Tana Tidung, and Bangka Selatan, with confirmed positive cases of 3.72, 3.1, and 2.33 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
