Average Length of Schooling for Tasikmalaya Residents Up to Grade VII in 2025

The average length of schooling (RLS) for residents aged 25 years and over in Tasikmalaya, West Java, reached 7.98 years in 2025.

According to data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the RLS of residents in the region is below the average for West Java Province, which reached 9.14 years in 2025.

Tasikmalaya residents' RLS increased by 0.01 years (0.13%) compared to the previous year, which was 7.97 years. Meanwhile, in the last five years, the RLS has increased by 0.63 years (8.57%).

This RLS indicates that the average Tasikmalaya resident only attends school up to the seventh grade. However, this RLS is still below the national average RLS of 9.07 years in 2025.

Compared to 26 other regencies/cities in West Java Province, Tasikmalaya's RLS is in 19th place. Other regions in the province with the highest RLS are Bekasi City (12.11 years), while the lowest RLS is Indramayu Regency (7.06 years).
