To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, 139 regencies/cities are aggressively conducting Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Tuesday, November 8, 2022, shows a national average of 132.06 tests per week.
The top five regions with the highest number of tests per week are: Kudus (994 people), Bandung Barat (978 people), Klaten (969 people), Gresik (939 people), and Sukoharjo (937 people).
Kudus ranks first. With a population of 893,350, 994 tests were conducted per week. The latest positive rate is 10.46 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Bandung Barat follows. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 978 tests were conducted per week. The positive rate is 10.53 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Klaten conducted 969 tests per week. Gresik conducted 939 tests per week, and Sukoharjo, with a population of 903,750, conducted 937 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact, based on national Covid data, 198 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of tests per week compared to the previous week. Conversely, 158 regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, regions with the highest number of tests per week include Deli Serdang (889 people), Batam City (874 people), and Samarinda City (849 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing transmission by wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
