Based on national Covid-19 data, 161 regencies/cities aggressively conducted Covid-19 testing above the national average. Data from Tuesday, June 28, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at one person per 1,000 residents per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, East Jakarta, Balikpapan, and Badung, with testing rates of 9.22, 8.31, 5.82, 5.74, and 5.71 people per 1,000 residents per week, respectively.
South Jakarta ranks first, with a testing rate of 9.22 people per 1,000 residents per week. The latest positive rate is 8.35 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. To combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the testing rate was 8.31 people per 1,000 residents per week. The positive rate is 7.19 percent, also higher than the previous week.
East Jakarta recorded a testing rate of 5.82 people per 1,000 residents per week; Balikpapan, with a population of 646,020, recorded 5.74 people per 1,000 residents per week; and Badung recorded 5.71 people per 1,000 residents per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid-19 data, 136 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported higher daily testing numbers than before. Meanwhile, 224 other regencies/cities recorded lower testing numbers compared to the previous week.
Outside Java, areas with the highest testing rates include Balikpapan (5.74 people), Badung (5.71 people), and Mimika (5.37 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
