According to a Bluebell survey conducted in early 2025, the majority of high-end consumers in Asia prefer timeless brands. They are also no longer influenced by trends when purchasing products.
This situation prevails across major Asian markets. The highest percentage was recorded in China, with 87% of respondents.
This was followed by Hong Kong (85%), Japan (83%), Southeast Asian countries (80%), and South Korea (78%).
“The desire for products unaffected by seasonal trends is widespread. In China, 87% of respondents now prefer timeless products over trendy ones,” stated Bluebell in its 2025 Asia Lifestyle Consumer Profile.
Bluebell noted strong conviction in China and Japan, where 40% and 39% of respondents strongly agreed, respectively. However, in South Korea and Hong Kong, while many agreed, consumers were more hesitant.
“Southeast Asia has the highest rejection rate (8% strongly disagree), indicating that a small percentage of consumers are still interested in novelties and trend cycles,” Bluebell stated.
The Bluebell survey employed an online interview method conducted from February 13 to March 23, 2025. A total of 1,500 high-end Asian consumers aged 20-50, with a minimum expenditure of US$1,200 on lifestyle products in the past 6 months, participated in the survey.
