Average Schooling Duration in West Sumba Regency Rises to 7.39 Years

The average schooling duration (ASD) of the population aged 25 years and over in West Sumba, East Nusa Tenggara was 7.39 years in 2025.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), the ASD of the population in this region was below the East Nusa Tenggara provincial average of 8.22 years in 2025.

The ASD of West Sumba's population increased by 0.22 years (3.07%) compared to the previous year, which was 7.17 years. Meanwhile, over the last five years, the ASD has increased by 0.79 years (11.97%).

This ASD indicates that the average population of West Sumba only attended school up to the 7th grade level. However, this ASD is still below the national ASD average of 9.07 years in 2025.

When compared to the other 21 regencies/cities in East Nusa Tenggara Province, West Sumba's ASD ranks 18th. Other regions in the province with the highest ASD are Kupang City (11.66 years), while the lowest ASD is West Sumba Regency (6.47 years).
