The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 65 regencies/cities with weekly inpatient utilization above the national average, currently recorded at 1.78 patients per 100,000 population/week, data as of Tuesday, August 16, 2022.
The five regencies/cities with the highest inpatient utilization, exceeding 6.47 patients per 100,000 population/week, are Palangkaraya City, Sorong City, Magelang City, Tegal City, and Bontang City, with respective values of 10.82 patients per 100,000 population/week, 8.33 patients per 100,000 population/week, 7.38 patients per 100,000 population/week, 7.2 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 6.47 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national Covid data from the Ministry of Health shows that inpatient utilization in most regencies/cities outside Java has decreased. A higher than previous daily inpatient utilization was recorded in 21 regencies/cities, while 42 regencies/cities recorded lower inpatient utilization.
Areas outside Java with the highest inpatient utilization include Palangkaraya City, Sorong City, and Bontang City, with inpatient utilization rates of 10.82 patients per 100,000 population/week, 8.33 patients per 100,000 population/week, and 6.47 patients per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
