To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, 146 regencies/cities are aggressively conducting Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Friday, September 30, 2022, shows a national average of 142.48 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Karawang (940 people), Jepara (925 people), Gresik (916 people), Malang (871 people), and Pekanbaru City (853 people).
Karawang ranks first, with 940 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 4.47 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Jepara, with 925 people tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate in this region is 2.05 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Following this, Gresik recorded 916 tests per week, Malang 871, and Pekanbaru City 853 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact in various regions, based on national Covid data recapitulation, 188 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of weekly tests than the previous week. Meanwhile, 180 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of weekly tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of weekly tests include Pekanbaru City (853 people), Samarinda City (712 people), and Kupang City (697 people).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
