To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, 141 districts/cities are aggressively conducting Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Wednesday, November 9, 2022, shows a national average of 132.52 tests per week.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Jepara, Bandung Barat, Kudus, Gresik, and Sukoharjo, with 987, 970, 968, 954, and 933 tests per week respectively.
Jepara ranks first, with 987 tests per week. The latest positive rate is 12.06 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Next is Bandung Barat, with 970 tests per week in its efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate is 10.31 percent, also higher than the previous week.
Following are Kudus with 968 tests per week, Gresik with 954 tests per week, and Sukoharjo with 933 tests per week.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact across various regions, based on national Covid data, 192 districts/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests compared to the previous week. Conversely, 155 districts/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, some regions with the highest number of tests per week include Deli Serdang, Batam City, and Samarinda City, with 881, 877, and 777 tests per week respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
