Data as of Thursday, July 7, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 56.29 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest percentage of people tested per week, are Badung (664.7%), Mimika (552.68%), Balikpapan City (528.11%), Teluk Wondama (385.71%), and Surabaya City (367.87%).
Badung is ranked first. With a population of 727,950, the weekly percentage of people tested is recorded at 664.7 percent. The latest positive rate is 3.43 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Next is Mimika. The population of this region is recorded at 221,810. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly percentage of people tested is 552.68 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 0.57 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Balikpapan City recorded 528.11 percent testing, Teluk Wondama 385.71 percent, and Surabaya City 367.87 percent in weekly testing percentage.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 199 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 172 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Some of the regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratio include Badung, Mimika, and Balikpapan City, with weekly testing percentages of 664.7 percent, 552.68 percent, and 528.11 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
