Several districts/cities in North Sumatra province still record quite low vaccination rates compared to other regions. Some of these districts/cities include Nias Regency, Simalungun Regency, and Deli Serdang Regency.
As of Sunday, January 30, 2022, these three regions had only completed 1.72 million doses of the first vaccine shot out of the targeted 2.39 million vaccine recipients.
Nias Regency is ranked first in terms of low vaccination rates. As of the previous day, this region had completed 71.3% of its vaccination program, the lowest among the other 33 districts/cities. The vaccination program in this regency targets 110,680 recipients. The average weekly vaccination rate last week was 546 recipients. The remaining vaccine stock is currently recorded at 16,888 doses.
Next is Simalungun Regency, ranked second lowest. With a vaccination target of 788,360 recipients, vaccination in this region has reached 71.36%, or 562,600 recipients. The average weekly vaccination rate last week was 2,108 recipients. The remaining vaccine stock is currently recorded at 181,160 doses.
Third is Deli Serdang Regency. With a vaccination target of 1.49 million recipients, vaccination in this region has reached 72.61%, or 1.08 million recipients. The average weekly vaccination rate last week was 6,823 recipients. The available vaccine stock is 427,210 doses.
At the provincial level, the total first dose vaccination in North Sumatra has reached 89.01%, covering 10.16 million vaccine recipients. The second dose vaccination has reached 55.96%, covering 6.39 million vaccine recipients.
