The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Balikpapan, East Jakarta, and South Tangerang, with respective figures of 5.47, 5.22, 4.69, 3.94, and 3.52 tests per 1000 people/week.
South Jakarta ranks first, with 5.47 tests per 1000 people/week. The latest positive rate is 4.77 percent, lower than the previous week's ratio.
Next is Central Jakarta, with a population of 913,720. In efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, 5.22 tests per 1000 people/week were conducted. The positive rate is 5.53 percent, also lower than the previous week.
Balikpapan recorded 4.69 tests per 1000 people/week, East Jakarta 3.94 tests per 1000 people/week, and South Tangerang 3.52 tests per 1000 people/week.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on national Covid data recapitulation, 123 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reported a higher number of daily tests than before. Meanwhile, 194 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Areas outside Java with the highest number of tests include Balikpapan (4.69 tests), Gunungsitoli (3.26 tests), and Badung (3.03 tests).
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water.
