Top 10 Regencies/Cities with the Highest National Tracing Rates (Friday, March 17, 2023)

The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 26 regencies/cities with weekly tracing rates above the national average, currently recorded at 0.47 percent as of Friday, March 17, 2023.

The top five regencies/cities with tracing rates exceeding 18 percent are Surabaya City (25.33 percent), West Jakarta City (21.87 percent), Malang City (19.25 percent), East Jakarta City (18.45 percent), and Jambi City (18 percent).

A national COVID-19 data recapitulation from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in tracing rates in most regencies/cities outside Java. Three regencies/cities recorded higher daily tracing rates than before.

Some of the areas outside Java with the highest tracing rates include Jambi City (18 percent), Balikpapan City (15 percent), and Kubu Raya (10 percent).

Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
