Several districts/cities in North Maluku province still record quite low second-dose vaccination rates compared to other areas. Some of these districts/cities include North Halmahera Regency, South Halmahera Regency, and West Halmahera Regency.
As of today, in the vaccination program, these three regencies have only completed 114,460 second doses out of the expected target of 434,960 vaccine recipients.
North Halmahera Regency is ranked first in terms of low vaccination rates. As of yesterday, the second-dose vaccination in this region only recorded 25.1%. This is the lowest compared to the other 10 districts/cities. Meanwhile, the first-dose vaccination has reached 71.4% or 140,040 vaccine recipients as of today.
This district/city's vaccination program targets 144,610 participants. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination in North Halmahera last week was 1,112 participants. The current vaccine stock is 80,248 doses.
Next is South Halmahera Regency. For the second dose vaccination, this area is ranked second lowest. With a target of 188,350 vaccine recipients, only 26.1% or 49,099 recipients have been vaccinated.
The first-dose vaccination has reached 80.4% or 201,240 vaccine recipients. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination in South Halmahera last week was 7,079 participants. The remaining vaccine stock is 65,566 doses.
West Halmahera Regency is ranked third. With a target of 101,990 vaccine recipients, only 28.5% or 29,035 recipients have received the second dose. According to the Ministry of Health's data, the average weekly vaccination in West Halmahera last week was 962 participants. The currently available vaccine stock is 18,454 doses.
Regarding the provincial-level vaccination achievement, the total first-dose vaccination in North Maluku has reached 62.5% or 886,120 vaccine recipients. The second-dose vaccination has reached 30.37% or 430,570 vaccine recipients.
