Banten Hotel Occupancy Increased to 55.2% in November 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the Hotel Room Occupancy Rate (HROR) for star-rated hotels in Banten in November 2021 was 55.2%. This figure increased by 6.12 percentage points from 49.08% in October 2021.

The increase in Banten's hotel HROR in November 2021 occurred across all classes of star-rated hotels. The highest increase in HROR was seen in five-star hotels, rising by 11.86 percentage points month-on-month to 34.81%.

Furthermore, the HROR for four-star hotels increased by 8.33 percentage points month-on-month to 63.92%; for three-star hotels, it rose by 6.73 percentage points to 54%; for two-star hotels, it increased by 1.99 percentage points to 48.61%; and for one-star hotels, it rose by 0.95 percentage points to 51.03%.

BPS noted that the increase in HROR in Banten in November 2021 was likely due to the increase in the number of meetings, incentives, conventions, and exhibitions (MICE) events held towards the end of the year. This had a positive impact on the hospitality industry in Banten.

The average length of stay (ALOS) for combined guests (foreign and Indonesian) at star-rated hotels in Banten was recorded at 1.60 days in November 2021, up 0.13 points compared to October 2021. Compared to the same month last year, the combined ALOS increased by 0.02 points.

The ALOS for foreign tourists in Banten was 1.99 days in November 2021. This duration was longer than that of domestic tourists, which was 1.58 days.
