The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) recorded 54 regencies/cities with a weekly number of confirmed positive COVID-19 cases above the national average, currently recorded at 1.42 per 100,000 population/week (data as of Thursday, June 30, 2022).
The top five regencies/cities with confirmed positive cases exceeding 47.12 per 100,000 population/week are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, West Jakarta, South Tangerang, and North Jakarta, with values of 87.69, 69.28, 52.74, 49.87, and 47.12 per 100,000 population/week, respectively.
A recapitulation of national COVID-19 data from the Ministry of Health shows an increase in confirmed positive cases in most regencies/cities outside Java. Thirty-three regencies/cities recorded higher daily confirmed positive cases than before, while 25 regencies/cities recorded lower confirmed positive cases.
Areas outside Java with the highest confirmed positive case rates include Badung (26.79 per 100,000 population/week), Teluk Bintuni (17.36 per 100,000 population/week), and Denpasar (10.61 per 100,000 population/week).
Although COVID-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to help reduce COVID-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to suppressing the spread of the coronavirus.
