The Indonesian Ministry of Health reported that 68.73 million doses of COVID-19 booster vaccines had been administered in Indonesia as of Friday, April 21, 2023. This figure represents 37.86 percent of the national COVID-19 vaccination target of 234.66 million doses. The daily increase in booster vaccinations nationwide yesterday was recorded at 1,815 doses.
Based on provinces, West Java still holds the top position with the highest number of booster vaccine recipients nationally, reaching 15.47 million doses. Within West Java, Bogor Regency had the highest number of booster vaccine recipients with 1.59 million doses. Following are Bandung Regency (1.1 million), Bekasi City (979,770), Bekasi Regency (967,740), Cianjur Regency (912,620), and Bandung City (897,780).
East Java is in second place with 9.38 million doses. Within East Java, Surabaya City had the highest number of booster vaccine recipients, with 1.31 million doses.
Central Java is in third place with 8.57 million booster vaccine doses administered. This is followed by Jakarta, North Sumatra, and Banten with 5.35 million, 4.2 million, and 2.99 million doses respectively.
