The percentage of children aged 12 to 23 months receiving complete basic immunization has increased since 2019. This increase even occurred during the pandemic in 2020 and 2021.
The percentage of children aged 12 to 23 months who received complete basic immunization was recorded at 55.33% in 2019. This number rose to 57.17% in 2020. In 2021, the percentage of recipients of basic immunization increased significantly to 61.09%.
Bali had the highest percentage of complete basic immunization at 82.8%. Meanwhile, Aceh had the lowest percentage, reaching 22.73%.
Quoting the Ministry of Health's website, five complete basic immunizations consist of: 1 dose of Hepatitis B vaccine, 1 dose of BCG vaccine, 4 doses of Polio vaccine, 3 doses of DPT-HB vaccine, and 1 dose of Measles vaccine. The Ministry of Health recommends that these immunizations be given before the age of one.
If immunizations are incomplete, parents are urged to immediately complete them even if the child's age has passed the immunization schedule. Immunization can be done at government services such as Posyandu (integrated community health centers), Puskesmas (community health centers), or hospitals.
