The Indonesian Ministry of Health has set maximum retail prices (MRP) for medications used in the treatment of COVID-19 patients. This measure aims to prevent price surges amidst the worsening pandemic situation in Indonesia.
The most expensive drug is Intravenous Immunoglobulin (IVIG) 10% 50 ml, priced at Rp 6.17 million per vial. The highest price for IVIG 10% 25 ml is Rp 3.96 million per vial, while IVIG 5% 50 ml is listed at Rp 3.26 million per vial.
Tocilizumab 400 mg has a maximum price of Rp 5.71 million per vial. The highest price for Tocilizumab 80 mg is Rp 1.16 million per vial.
Remdesivir 100 mg injection has a maximum price of Rp 510,000 per vial. Azithromycin 500 mg injection has a maximum price of Rp 95,400 per vial.
Oseltamivir 75 mg has a maximum price of Rp 26,000 per capsule. The maximum price for Favipiravir (Avigan) 200 mg is Rp 22,500 per tablet.
The maximum price for Ivermectin 12 mg is Rp 7,500 per tablet. Azithromycin 500 mg tablets have a maximum price of Rp 1,700 per tablet.
Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin stated that these prices apply to pharmacies, hospitals, and other healthcare facilities. The public is urged not to purchase COVID-19 treatment medications freely, including through online platforms.
Medication is a last resort in COVID-19 treatment. Before resorting to medication, the public is urged to prevent COVID-19 by diligently following the 3M health protocols: wearing masks, maintaining distance, and washing hands with soap.
