Data as of Monday, June 27, 2022, shows the national average testing rate at 60.9 percent. This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to each region's weekly target, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are South Jakarta, Central Jakarta, Balikpapan, Badung, and East Jakarta, with percentages of 916.75 percent, 811.12 percent, 583.54 percent, 577.75 percent, and 563.62 percent, respectively.
South Jakarta ranks first. The weekly testing percentage there is recorded at 916.75 percent. The latest positive rate is 8.1 percent. The positive rate in this region increased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Central Jakarta. The population of this region is recorded at 913,720 people. In an effort to counter the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 811.12 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 6.63 percent, also up from the previous week's percentage.
Furthermore, Balikpapan recorded 583.54 percent testing, Badung recorded 577.75 percent, and East Jakarta recorded 563.62 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on a recapitulation of national Covid data, there are 236 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively reporting a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 142 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentages include Balikpapan, Badung, and Teluk Wondama, with weekly testing percentages of 583.54 percent, 577.75 percent, and 502.86 percent, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
