To curb the spread of Covid-19 in regions, 142 regencies/cities are aggressively conducting Covid-19 tests exceeding the national average over the past week. Data as of Tuesday, October 11, 2022, shows a national average of 131.6 tests per week.
The top five, starting with the highest number of people tested per week, are Demak (985 people), Indramayu (934 people), Deli Serdang (929 people), Klaten (929 people), and Bandung Barat (910 people).
Demak ranks first, with 985 people tested per week. The latest positive rate is 2.44 percent, an increase from the previous week.
Indramayu follows, with 934 people tested per week in efforts to combat the Covid-19 pandemic. The positive rate is 1.93 percent, a decrease from the previous week.
Deli Serdang recorded 929 people tested per week, and Bandung Barat recorded 910.
In anticipation of the Omicron impact across various regions, based on national Covid data, 194 regencies/cities in Indonesia actively report a higher number of people tested per week compared to the previous week. Meanwhile, 167 other regencies/cities recorded a lower number of tests compared to the previous week.
Outside of Java, areas with the highest number of people tested per week include Deli Serdang, Batam City, and Pekanbaru City, with 929, 869, and 817 people tested per week, respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission has decreased in some areas, the government urges everyone to continue reducing Covid-19 transmission by consistently wearing masks, maintaining physical distancing, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
