This testing achievement data is calculated based on the number of people tested compared to the weekly target of each region, which is then reported to the Ministry of Health.
The top five, starting from the highest, are Balikpapan City, Mimika, Surakarta City, Semarang City, and Semarang City with ratios of 404.04 percent, 306.25 percent, 234.17 percent, 206.96 percent, and 195.85 percent respectively.
Balikpapan City ranks first. With a population of 646,020, the weekly testing percentage is recorded at 404.04 percent. The latest positive rate is 4.5 percent. The positive rate in this region has decreased compared to the previous week's ratio.
Next is Mimika. The population in this region is recorded at 221,810. In an effort to combat the Covid-19 pandemic, the weekly testing percentage is 306.25 percent. The positive rate in this region is recorded at 4.96 percent, which has also decreased compared to the previous week's percentage.
Then, Surakarta City recorded 234.17 percent testing, Semarang City recorded 206.96 percent, and Semarang City recorded 195.85 percent.
Anticipating the impact of Omicron in various regions, based on the national Covid data recapitulation, there are 201 regencies/cities in Indonesia that actively report a higher weekly testing percentage than before. Meanwhile, 156 other regencies/cities recorded a lower weekly testing percentage compared to the previous week's testing.
Regions outside Java with the highest weekly testing percentage ratios include Balikpapan City, Mimika, and Jayapura City with weekly testing percentages of 404.04 percent, 306.25 percent, and 159.42 percent respectively.
Although Covid-19 transmission in some areas has decreased, the government urges everyone to continue to reduce Covid-19 transmission by always wearing masks, maintaining distance, and frequently washing hands with soap and running water. Avoiding crowds and reducing mobility also contribute to curbing the spread of the coronavirus.
