According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the average growth in household expenditure on telecommunications in Southeast Sulawesi in 2023 was recorded at 8.64%. This figure is higher than the previous year's figure of Rp4.42 million. Since 2014, the average household expenditure on telecommunications by province in Southeast Sulawesi has shown an upward trend in terms of quantity. Conversely, in the four years following the COVID-19 pandemic, the average household expenditure on telecommunications by province has shown an upward trend.
Previously, according to the record of the last five years, the highest growth in Southeast Sulawesi occurred in 2016 with a growth of 17.55%. The average over the last six years was 5.62%.

DKI Jakarta recorded the highest average household expenditure on telecommunications at Rp10.67 million. In this province, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded a 16.48% year-on-year increase compared to the same period the previous year.
Next is Riau Islands, which recorded an average household expenditure on telecommunications of Rp7.85 million, higher than the same period the previous year. The annual data shows that the average household expenditure on telecommunications in this province increased by 18.44% compared to the previous year.
Furthermore, the average household expenditure on telecommunications in East Kalimantan increased by 11.04% to Rp7.73 million compared to the same period the previous year; in North Kalimantan, it increased by 11.11% to Rp7.28 million compared to the same period the previous year; and in Banten, it reached Rp7.19 million (up 13.45%).
