81.7% of respondents chose sneakers because of their comfort. Other factors included appealing design and color (68.4%), price (63.9%), durability (57.1%), brand reputation (38.1%), and sales promotions (37.1%).

The survey also revealed that Adidas is the most popular sneaker brand in Indonesia, with 62.4% of respondents expressing their preference.

Nike ranked second with 61.9%, followed by Converse at 45.1%.

The Kurious-KIC survey polled 399 respondents across Indonesia, with 49.2% male and 50.8% female respondents.

Over half of the respondents were from Java (excluding Jakarta) at 64%, followed by Jakarta (15.4%) and Sumatra (10.9%). Respondents from Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku-Papua ranged from 0.5% to 3.6%.

Most respondents were aged 35-44 (31.7%), followed by the 25-34 (29.6%) and 45-54 (22.2%) age groups.

The survey was conducted from February 14-22, 2023, using computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI), with a margin of error of approximately 4.9% and a 95% confidence level.
