The United States, the World's Largest Consumer of Chicken Meat in 2021

According to a report by the Foreign Agricultural Service, the United States is the world's largest consumer of chicken meat, reaching 16.98 million metric tons in 2021. This figure increased by 0.03% compared to the previous year, which was 16.99 million metric tons.

Besides the United States, China is also the highest consumer of chicken meat, at 14.4 million metric tons. Following are Brazil and the European Union, consuming 10.3 million metric tons and 9.7 million metric tons of chicken meat, respectively.

The next largest consumers of chicken meat are Mexico, with 4.7 million metric tons; Russia, with 4.6 million metric tons; Japan and Thailand, each consuming 2.8 million metric tons and 2.3 million metric tons, respectively.

Argentina follows with a consumption of 2.15 million metric tons of chicken meat, and the United Kingdom consumed 2.03 million metric tons.

Global chicken meat consumption reached 96.6 million metric tons in 2021. This amount increased by 0.16% compared to the previous year, which was 96.7 million metric tons.
