According to a Populix survey, there are various strategies that Indonesians are adopting to deal with the disruption of oil supply caused by the conflict in the Middle East.

The majority, or 38% of respondents, are addressing this situation by reducing their use of private vehicles.

Others are cutting back on spending in other categories (17%), working from home (WFH) or limiting mobility (16%), switching to public transportation (11%), and others (6%).

Meanwhile, only 12% of respondents have not made any adjustments related to the disruption of oil supply.

"The energy crisis is not only putting pressure on spending; it is also beginning to reshape how consumers make decisions," said Populix in a post on its Instagram account on Friday (10/4/2026).

"As fuel supply becomes constrained, people are adjusting their mobility, tightening expenses, and seeking more efficient alternatives," they continued.

This Populix survey involved 2,772 respondents across Indonesia. The data collection was conducted online from April 2-5, 2026.
