President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) aims for Kertajati Airport in Majalengka, West Java, to be fully operational starting October 2023.
"Starting October, this airport will be fully operational. This means that flights, particularly jet aircraft, will be shifted from Husein Sastranegara Airport to Kertajati Airport," Jokowi said in a press statement from the Ministry of Transportation, as quoted by *Katadata*, Wednesday (12/7/2023).
To support public transportation to Kertajati Airport, Perum Damri has opened three routes connecting the airport with several areas in West Java.
These three routes are Bandung-Kertajati, Cirebon-Kertajati, and Kuningan-Kertajati. Initially, only 4 Damri units will be operated.
"Currently, Damri serves these three routes operating twice a week, on Wednesdays and Sundays, to align with the regular flight schedule at Kertajati Airport," said Damri's Corporate Communication, Lishna Nurul Hikmah, in a press statement, as reported by *Kontan.co.id*, Sunday (30/7/2023).
Lisna also explained that Damri has made various preparations to provide public transportation routes to Kertajati Airport. This includes route permits, fleet, ticket counters, provision of counter staff and supervisors, and ticket booking applications via e-ticketing.
Damri ticket prices to Kertajati Airport start from Rp80,000. Here is a complete price list:
* Bandung-Kertajati Airport: Rp150,000 per person
* Kuningan-Kertajati Airport: Rp100,000 per person
* Cirebon-Kertajati Airport: Rp80,000 per person
Tickets for departures from Bandung can be booked at the Damri counter located at Cicahem Terminal.
Departures from Cirebon are through the Damri counter at the RM Brawijaya Transportation Supervisor Post, and departures from Kuningan are through the counter at Kuningan Terminal.
