The position of an accident impacts the number of victims. According to Jasa Raharja's report, front-side collisions resulted in the highest number of casualties in national traffic accidents from January to October 2021.
The number of traffic accident victims in front-side collisions reached 30,354. Not only did this position cause the most casualties, but it also involved the highest number of vehicles, reaching 38,836 from January to October 2021.
Besides front-side collisions, front-to-front collisions also resulted in a significant number of casualties, reaching 25,758 during the same period. Front-rear collisions caused 16,045 casualties.
Furthermore, single-vehicle accidents or slips resulted in 15,163 casualties. Accidents involving pedestrians resulted in 12,943 casualties.
Side-to-side and multiple/chain-reaction collisions also occurred during the January-October 2021 period, resulting in 7,331 and 2,858 casualties, respectively. Rear-side collisions caused 1,404 casualties, train accidents 380, sea accidents 142, and air accidents 63.
Jasa Raharja implemented accident prevention measures, including providing accident prevention facilities such as warning signs, road barricades, traffic cones, and promoting helmet use. Additionally, Jasa Raharja conducted Emergency Response Training (PPGD), Jasa Raharja Goes To Campus programs, and offered free homecoming transportation.
