A report from Statistics Indonesia (BPS) shows that the number of domestic and international airline passengers in Indonesia collectively declined in November 2025.
BPS detailed that the total number of domestic airline passengers reached 5.03 million people. This passenger figure decreased by 4.33% month-on-month (mom) from 5.26 million people in October 2025.
This decline in transportation performance occurred at all observed major airports, namely Juanda Airport-Surabaya (-9.16%), Ngurah Rai Airport-Denpasar (-8.99%), Kualanamu Airport-Medan (-8.67%), Hasanuddin Airport-Makassar (-1.34%), and Soekarno Hatta Airport-Tangerang (-0.32%).
BPS also outlined that the largest number of domestic passengers was recorded at Soekarno Hatta Airport-Tangerang, almost reaching 1.5 million people or 29.42% of the total domestic passengers, followed by Juanda Airport-Surabaya with 416.6 thousand (8.27%).
Cumulatively from January–November 2025, the number of domestic air transport passengers was 54.5 million people, a decrease of 5.65% compared to the same period last year (year-on-year/yoy), which was 57.8 million people.
The decrease in the number of passengers on international routes was also quite significant, namely 7.85% (mom) to 1.65 million people in November 2025.
Almost all observed airports experienced a decrease in passenger numbers. The details are: Hasanuddin Airport-Makassar (-21%), Ngurah Rai Airport-Denpasar (-18.72%), Juanda Airport-Surabaya (-4.26%), and Soekarno Hatta Airport-Tangerang (-0.50%).
An increase in passenger numbers only occurred at Kualanamu Airport-Medan, by 0.45%.
BPS reported that the largest number of international passengers was at Soekarno Hatta Airport-Tangerang, reaching 759.0 thousand people or 45.89% of the total outbound passengers, followed by Ngurah Rai Airport-Denpasar with 564.5 thousand people (34.13%).
During January–November 2025, BPS calculated that the number of international air transport passengers, using both national and foreign flights, was 18.71 million people, an increase of 8.36% (yoy).
