PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Persero), or KAI, recorded a consistent increase in the number of LRT Jabodebek passengers each month during the first quarter of 2024.
In January 2024, the LRT Jabodebek transported 1.20 million passengers, increasing to 1.26 million in February 2024, and further rising to 1.38 million passengers in March 2024.
According to Mahendro Trang Bawono, Public Relations Manager of the LRT Jabodebek, this increase in passenger volume will be accompanied by improvements in service quality and safety.
"This includes increased operational reliability, more frequent services, shorter waiting times between trains, and improved station facilities," said Mahendro in his official statement on Monday, April 29, 2024.
The LRT Jabodebek also boasts a high on-time performance (OTP) rate.
The average OTP for the LRT Jabodebek reached 94.26% in January 2024, slightly decreased to 91.02% in February 2024, and then surged to 97.4% in March 2024.
LRT Jabodebek staff have also secured 2,254 items belonging to passengers that were left behind on trains or in station areas.
These items generally include bags, electronic devices, cash, e-money, and personal accessories.
"LRT Jabodebek urges users to be vigilant about their belongings and to double-check before disembarking from the LRT Jabodebek train or leaving the station," said Mahendro.
