Domestic Air Passenger Arrivals in East Kalimantan Increased by 70.52% in September 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the number of domestic flight passengers arriving in East Kalimantan (Kaltim) reached 82,910 in September 2021. This figure is up 70.52% compared to the previous month, which recorded 48,620 passengers.

Compared to the same period the previous year, the number of air passengers to Kaltim in September 2021 increased by 5.19%. In September 2020, the number of domestic flight passengers arriving in the province reached 78,820.

In September 2021, there were no recorded international flight passengers arriving in Kaltim. In the previous month, there were 120 international arrivals.

A decrease in passenger numbers occurred in sea transport. Sea passengers to Kaltim totaled 20,300 in September 2021, down 20.83% from the previous month's 16,800.

Compared to the same period last year, however, the number of sea passengers to Kaltim increased by 38.38%. The number of sea passengers to this region in September 2020 was 14,670.
