Wuling is increasingly dominating the Indonesian battery electric vehicle (BEV) market.
According to data from the Indonesian Automotive Industry Association (Gaikindo), wholesale sales of the Wuling Air EV Long Range in the domestic market reached 4,799 units during the January-November 2022 period.
Wuling's achievement far surpasses the wholesale sales of its competitors, namely Hyundai, Nissan, Lexus, Mini Cooper, Toyota, and DFSK.
Here's a breakdown of the wholesale volume of BEV sales in Indonesia from January to November 2022:

Wuling's sales are also expected to continue strengthening in the coming years. The government is currently preparing a special subsidy policy for the purchase of domestically produced electric vehicles.
As of November 2022, only two electric vehicle manufacturers are producing in Indonesia: Wuling and Hyundai. This means that Wuling's electric vehicle sales have the potential to be further boosted by this policy.
However, the electric vehicle subsidy policy is still under development and not yet finalized.
"We are learning from various countries that are relatively more advanced in the use of electric vehicles, both cars and motorcycles, such as European countries, because their governments provide incentives," said Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang in a press statement on Wednesday (14/12/2022).
"If we look at China, they also provide incentives, and a country that is actually our competitor, Thailand, also provides incentives," he continued.
"Each country has different policies, but the point is to provide incentives, and in this context, Indonesia wants to encourage the use of electric cars and motorcycles to be faster," he added.
