2015, Indonesia-China Trade Reached 15 Percent

Indonesia's trade transactions with China reached US$44.6 billion, or Rp613 trillion at an exchange rate of Rp13,795 per US dollar. This trade value with China is the largest compared to other countries such as Japan, Singapore, and the United States.

Indonesia's trade value with China accounts for 15% of Indonesia's total trade, which is worth US$293 billion or approximately Rp4,043 trillion. This figure is down 17% from the previous year's trade value. The fall in oil prices, followed by other commodity prices, and sluggish demand caused Indonesia's trade value to shrink throughout 2015.

Indonesia's imports from China reached US$29.4 billion, while exports to China amounted to US$15 billion. The value of goods imported from the US was US$7.6 billion, while exports to the US reached US$16.2 billion. Indonesia's trade transactions with Japan comprised US$31.2 billion in imports and US$13.3 billion in exports. Imports from Singapore reached US$18 billion, and exports amounted to US$12.6 billion.
