Riau Islands' Exports Reach US$1.31 Billion in October 2021

The Central Statistics Agency (BPS) reported that the value of exports from the Riau Islands reached US$1.3 billion in October 2021. This figure is down 4.97% compared to the previous month, which was US$1,376.9 million.

However, the value of Riau Islands' exports last month increased by 29.9% compared to the same period the previous year. In October 2020, the value of exports from the Riau Islands was recorded at US$1 billion.

In detail, the value of oil and gas exports was recorded at US$283.45 million in October 2021. This amount decreased by 28.3% compared to the previous month, which was US$395.32 million.

Meanwhile, the value of non-oil and gas exports reached US$1.03 billion. This increased by 4.42% from the previous month, which was US$981.62 million.

Singapore was the largest destination for non-oil and gas exports from the Riau Islands in October 2021, with a value of US$319.04 million. In addition, Singapore was the largest destination for oil and gas exports from the Riau Islands, with a value of US$257.04 million.

The value of non-oil and gas exports from the Riau Islands to the United States was the second largest last month, at US$187.43 million. Meanwhile, the second largest destination for oil and gas exports from the Riau Islands was Thailand, at US$14.33 million.

According to the main port, the largest value of exports from the Riau Islands was through Batu Ampar Port, at US$581.97 million in October 2021. However, this amount decreased by 4.74% compared to the previous month.
