A total of 7.39 million tons were shipped to other countries.

Furthermore, the Indonesian Mining Experts Association (Perhapi) noted a change in demand patterns from importers. For example, China prefers to buy high-calorie coal.

"This is because with the falling coal price, they will profit from low-priced, high-calorie coal," said Perhapi Chairman Sudirman Widhy, as reported by Kontan, Monday (September 4, 2025).

He stated that this condition will challenge Indonesian coal exports until the end of the year, especially if the import policies of countries like China remain unchanged. The coal export target for 2025 is set at 500 million tons.
