Indonesia's trade balance with Nepal showed a surplus of US$16.51 million in 2020. However, this surplus decreased significantly by -68.13% compared to the previous year's surplus of US$51.79 million.
The sharp decline in Indonesia's trade balance with Nepal was due to Indonesia's exports to Nepal amounting to only US$16.69 million, while imports reached US$0.18 million.
The three main products imported from Nepal were Paper and paperboard; articles of pulp, paper or paperboard (HS 48), Raw hides and skins (other than furskins) and leather (HS 41), and Machinery, mechanical appliances, nuclear reactors, boilers; parts thereof (HS 84).
Indonesia's exports to Nepal have been on a downward trend over the past year. The previous year's export value was US$51.95 million.
Based on product type, there were 10 main export products from Indonesia to Nepal that recorded a surplus during 2020. The total value of these main exports reached US$14.2 million.

The total value of Indonesia's trade balance was recorded at US$21.68 billion, or up 703.56%. In other words, Indonesia recorded a trade surplus. The previous year's trade balance with all countries worldwide was recorded at US$-3.59 billion.
