According to data from the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS), the growth in the value of oil and non-oil imports in North Sumatra in July 2023 was recorded at 18.93%, reaching US$566.6 million. Previously, according to the records of the last 22 years, the highest growth rate in North Sumatra occurred in March 2022, with growth of 401.64%. With this growth record, it is evident that the value of oil and non-oil imports has continued to strengthen over the past six years.
DKI Jakarta ranks first. In this province, the Central Bureau of Statistics (BPS) recorded the value of oil and non-oil imports at US$8.96 billion. Monthly data in this region increased by 9.8% compared to the same period the previous month.
Next is East Java, which recorded oil and non-oil imports valued at US$2.55 billion, lower than the same period the previous month. Meanwhile, the monthly data shows that oil and non-oil imports in this province increased by 16.78% compared to the previous month.
Furthermore, oil and non-oil imports in Riau Islands increased by 15.11% to US$1.6 billion compared to the same period the previous month, while oil and non-oil imports in Banten decreased by 17.99% to US$1.32 billion compared to the same period the previous month, and Central Java recorded oil and non-oil imports valued at US$1.18 billion (down 26.3%).
