The rapid growth of internet streaming services hasn't diminished Indonesians' desire to use television. Especially during the breaking of the fast, television remains the most popular media for a large portion of the population.

This aligns with the results of a Kurious survey from the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), which shows that television is the most watched media among Indonesians during the breaking of the fast, with a percentage of 47.1%.

The Kurious-KIC survey also shows that respondents who watched television during the breaking of the fast watched programs on national television channels.

YouTube ranked second as the most watched media among Indonesians during the breaking of the fast, at 27%.

On the other hand, fewer respondents listened to the radio, used paid streaming services, or Spotify, as shown in the graph. Paid streaming services such as Netflix and Disney+ are included in this category.

The remaining 13.4% of respondents said they did not use any media to accompany their breaking of the fast.

The Kurious-KIC survey involved 599 respondents spread across various regions of Indonesia, with 48.2% male respondents and 52.8% female respondents.

More than half of the respondents were from Java (excluding Jakarta) at 63.8%, followed by Jakarta (15.7%), and Sumatra (10.4%). Respondents from Sulawesi, Kalimantan, Bali-Nusa Tenggara, and Maluku-Papua ranged from 0.3% to 4.3%.

Most respondents were aged between 35-44 years (33.4%), followed by the 25-34 year age group (29.9%) and the 45-54 year age group (20.2%).

The survey was conducted from March 24-31, 2023, using the computer-assisted web interviewing (CAWI) method, with a margin of error of approximately 4% and a 95% confidence level.
