Most Indonesians verify news and information using internet search engines.

This is evident from a survey report, a collaboration between the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) and the Katadata Insight Center (KIC), titled *Status Literasi Digital di Indonesia 2022* (Digital Literacy Status in Indonesia 2022).

Of the 10,000 people surveyed, approximately 48% regularly check the veracity of information, including images, videos, news articles, websites, and social media posts.

Among those who regularly verify information, the majority (39.5%) use search engines such as Google, Bing, Yahoo, and Yandex.

The Kominfo and KIC conducted this survey among 10,000 internet users aged 13-70, spread across 34 provinces and 514 regencies/cities in Indonesia.

The survey was conducted from August to September 2022 through face-to-face interviews. Sampling was done using multistage random sampling, with a margin of error of approximately 0.98% and a 95% confidence interval.
