What is the Coverage of 4G Signal in Indonesia?

Throughout 2017, the Ministry of Communication and Informatics (Kominfo) monitored the development of infrastructure in the telecommunications and broadcasting sectors. This was based on the increasing data needs of the Indonesian population, thus requiring improvements to the 4G cellular network services. Optimization of available channels was also carried out to support the fulfillment of these services.

In a Working Meeting between Kominfo and Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI), it was presented that there are currently 55,000 eNodeBs supporting 4G signal coverage in Indonesia. eNodeB is a radio network element of Long Term Evolution (LTE) or E-UTRAN. 73.53% of Indonesian provinces, or 25 provinces, already enjoy 4G network access. However, only 55.05% of all villages/sub-districts in Indonesia (45,811 villages/sub-districts) are covered by 4G signal services.
