Kadence: OVO is Now Indonesia's Most Popular Digital Payment Platform

OVO has been crowned the most popular digital payment platform in Indonesia. According to a Kadence International survey, respondents rated OVO as the digital wallet they were most familiar with, achieving a brand awareness rate of 96%.

OVO also dominated the number of active users, achieving a score of 71%. With the largest number of active users, 31% of respondents also identified OVO as the brand they used most frequently.

GoPay followed in second place, with respondent brand awareness almost identical to OVO at 95%. This was followed by DANA with a brand awareness rate of 93%.

ShopeePay had a brand awareness rate of 81%. Although ShopeePay had lower brand awareness, this digital wallet managed to acquire 57% active users, more than DANA's 46%.

LinkAja achieved a brand awareness rate of 75%, with 22% active users, and only 4% of respondents identified LinkAja as the brand they used most frequently. This percentage was the lowest among other digital wallets.

The Kadence survey, conducted in July 2021, involved 1,000 respondents through an online survey in several major cities in Indonesia, namely Jabodetabek, Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, Medan, and Palembang. This survey investigated the behavioral patterns of active users of 14 digital payment platforms, with only 5 platforms considered sufficiently popular in Indonesia.
