Populix surveyed the level of public trust in Indonesia towards artificial intelligence (AI).
The results showed that the most trusted AI function is language translation, as stated by 27% of respondents.
Other respondents trusted AI's work in creating captions or articles (23%), editing photos or videos (22%), and finding the fastest travel routes (12%).
Some also trusted health advice from AI (8%), as well as movie or music recommendations (7%).
"The level of trust is lower when it comes to personal or subjective matters, such as health advice or entertainment recommendations," wrote Populix in its report, AI in Everyday Life.
Meanwhile, only 2% of respondents did not trust AI.
Populix also found several reasons why respondents were hesitant about using AI.
As many as 24% of respondents felt that AI-generated content was less natural, 23% were concerned about personal data leaks, 20% feared becoming overly dependent, and 12% felt that AI's work was inaccurate or wrong.
Populix conducted this online survey from June 10-12, 2025, involving 1,100 respondents across Indonesia.
The majority of respondents were located on Java Island (79%), followed by Sumatra (13%), and other islands (8%).
