According to a JakPat survey of 2,259 Indonesian consumers, 40% regularly stream films via over-the-top (OTT) services such as Netflix, Disney+, Vidio, and others.

Of this OTT consumer group, the majority (31%) spend 90-120 minutes per viewing session.

Others typically watch for 60-90 minutes (29%), 30-60 minutes (18%), more than 120 minutes (13%), and less than 30 minutes (9%).

JakPat also found that almost 60% of OTT consumers watch films between 6:01 PM and 9:00 PM.

"The peak streaming time occurs after working hours," JakPat wrote in its report, Indonesia Mobile Entertainment & Social Media Trends—1st Semester of 2025.

The majority, or 85%, of OTT consumers watch via smartphone. A smaller percentage use television (44%), computer or laptop (39%), tablet (16%), and game console (2%).

This JakPat survey involved 2,259 respondents, narrowed down to 901 respondents who use OTT services. In total, respondents consisted of 50% male and 50% female.

Respondents were located in non-Jabodetabek Java (49%), Jabodetabek (31%), and outside Java (20%).

40% of respondents were Gen Z (aged 15-28), 39% were millennials (aged 29-44), and 21% were Gen X (aged 45-55).

The survey was conducted online from May 27 to June 3, 2025, with a margin of error below 5%.
