According to a 2025 Jakpat survey, Indonesians cite various reasons for not watching Korean dramas (drakor). These include lack of time, excessive episode length, lack of interest in the storyline, and storylines deemed too predictable.
Jakpat also found differences in the main reasons between men and women. "Among male respondents, the main reason (for not watching) was lack of interest in the genre (20%), while more women said they didn't have time to watch (38%)," Jakpat stated in its report.
Below are the reasons Indonesians did not watch drakor in 2025:
No time to watch
2. Too many/too long episodes
3. Watched it but found it less interesting
4. Not interested in the genre or the theme of the story
5. Don’t understand Korean and don’t like reading subtitles
6. The story is too cliché or predictable
7. The acting or storytelling style doesn’t match my taste
8. Don’t know where to watch
The Jakpat survey was conducted online on April 28-29, 2025, involving 311 respondents who do not watch drakor. The survey's margin of error is below 5%.
