According to a survey report by the Indonesian Internet Service Providers Association (APJII), Instagram is the most accessed social media application among Generation Z (Gen Z) in Indonesia.

At the beginning of this year, the proportion of Indonesian Gen Z who frequently accessed Instagram reached 51.9%.

Many Indonesian Gen Z also frequently access Facebook, TikTok, and YouTube.

Others frequently access X (formerly Twitter), LinkedIn, and other social media applications with smaller proportions, as shown in the graph.

APJII conducted this survey in December 2023-January 2024, involving a total of 8,720 respondents randomly and proportionally selected from 38 Indonesian provinces.

Gen Z in this survey are respondents born between 1997-2012, or aged 12-27 years at the time of the survey. They comprised 31.4% of the total respondents.

This survey used a face-to-face interview method with a margin of error of +/-1.1%.
